Textile

It is estimated that by 2021, textile industries will account 349 million m3 of wastewater which will be detrimental to surrounding biodiversity and aquatic ecosystem. By, law effluent discharges must meet the “Quality Standards for Classified Industries”. They also state that the Department of Environment can undertake spot checks at any time and the pollution levels must not exceed these Quality standards. The Department of Environment has stated that ETP’s must be operated in such a way that it treats the wastewater to these standards or will be blacklisted.

Client a renowned manufacturer operating in the composite knit sector since 1996 required an automatic system – to monitor effluent at discharged point in real-time, display effluent parametric data on-line, analyze the data, keep history of records, and generate alarm/notification based on dynamic input from users. This would enable them to undertake proper management for proactive maintenance and cost minimization.

Solution

Hydroquo+ developed and deployed a monitoring station consisting of UV-VIS spectrometer-based sensors for measurement of (COD, BOD & TSS), probes for DO, pH that came with an online platform for monitoring, tracking, and alarming. The spectral alarm were pre-set for TSS:100 mg/l , BOD:150 mg/l, COD:250 mg/l , DO:0.3 mg/l & pH:9.

Real-Time Effluent Treatment Plant Monitoring System

After installation, the client was able to:

Proactively optimize loads and dosage at inlets to treat effluent discharge

Identify testing anomalies for pre-empt potential compliance issues

Reduce downtime maintenance inefficiency and expense with manual sample collections and lab testing

BENEFITS

Effluent Water Monitoring
